Sammy Rodriguez has stated that his father prayed over him every day of his life as he grew up. Mr. Rodriguez is one of the most powerful Christian leaders in America, who founded and is current President of the National Hispanic Christian Conference (over 40,00 Latino Evangelical churches as members) and read from Matthew 5 and gave an invocation at the 58th U.S. presidential inauguration on January 20, 2017. His father prayed the same, simple prayer every day for Sammy. “Lord, cover my son with your blood, protect him from all evil and fulfill your purpose in his life.” Looking at this simple but powerful prayer, I believe that we should offer it up daily for our children, spouse, others who are placed on our hearts and ourselves.
“Lord, cover my son with your blood.” The bible declares in 1 Peter 1:18&19, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” Revelation 12:11 states that “They (Christians) triumphed over him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” We are redeemed and triumph over the devil and demonic forces by the blood of Jesus. On behalf of our loved ones, we should pray and refresh daily in the spirit world the power of His blood.
“Lord, protect him from all evil.” James 4 :7states, “7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” 1 John 4:4 exclaims, “4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Pray and stand in God’s protection for our loved ones.
“Lord, fulfill your purpose in his life.” I believe we pray Philippians 1:6&9, 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. 9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment.”
