Pressurized Blessings

37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”   Luke 6:37-38

Does this sound like the kind of blessing you’re used to?

Have you questioned the Lord’s gifts to you and thought of how they’ve come your way?

The verses above challenge the reader to think deeper on this.   How many lessons in non-forgiveness have we experienced? How many instances of assuming something of another person only to learn we were incorrect?      And finally, Give and it will be given to you?

This style of giving is beyond generosity and moves us onto incredible, unbelievable, abundant giving. It is the giving that pushes us beyond our comfort zones and for today’s discussion let’s not just think on this from a monetary level.   That is … where or what else are we giving?

Pressurized blessings…     the bounce back….   the return on the investment….   the good measure…

You may have to think on this for awhile to really see and grasp all that Christ has done for us. This is the life that has confessed the worst of his sin to those it affects the most, only to experience months or years later FULL Forgiveness and a life beyond his previous joy expectations. This is the employee that goes in everyday humble and patient and perseveres under pressure then one day rewarded in front of the team when he or she least expects it.   This is the guy that blesses his neighbor each day, whether it’s cutting the grass in the parkway or maybe pulling in the garbage cans on a rainy day, to learn later that his neighbor never really had a friend like you that made them feel loved and appreciated this way.

Pressurized blessings are NOT RARE … they are NOT UNCOMMON… but they are hard to see if you’re not looking for them.   A life recovered from drug addiction, lies, deceit, and stealing is pressurized blessings.   Think through your own experience and try to pick out these times when the LORD has given over and above what you thought you needed.

If it has been difficult to find these times then perhaps there is more work to do on your part of forgiveness, giving, or even confessions?    Too often we have deduced the outcomes for our lives without truly EXPECTING GOD to change them beyond our imaginations.    I’ll admit I have done this far too much….   yet thankfully, the Lord has come back over the top in pressurized blessings over and over and over again. He’ll do it for you too, again and again. He’ll do it again….
