Where’s Your Treasure?

Here is a good exhortation for today, written by the writer of Hebrews: “Let brotherly love continue. Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it. Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily. Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers. Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:1-6  I often wonder how many times I have entertained angels, and didn’t even know it, or how many times you may have. How did they leave us? Feeling welcomed and full, or empty and wanting, unwelcome? What is our attitude toward prisoners, toward those who wait behind bars. Some are there because of a mistake; some are there because of continue defiance of both moral and written laws. But ALL are in need of Christ. The same as the victims, who need our love and encouragement. What is your marriage like? Does it need a shot in the arm of renewal, or intimacy? Has the passion left, and you find your eyes wandering?  God knows, and sees, and still loves and desires that we seek His guidance and strength to continue to choose to make right decisions. We should be free from the love of money, yet it takes money to live, but does it take as much as we seek? “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Are you satisfied with where you are in life? Do you believe God has brought you to such a place as you are for a purpose. He still is with you, don’t you know that? Through it all, He stands with us, in every situation, good or bad, and even when He doesn’t bail us out from the consequences of our sin, He still waits for us to cling to Him. For there is nothing on this earth, or in heaven that can separate us from the Love of God that is found in Christ.  Think about it.

Heavenly Father, I love You, for the way You reveal Yourself to us daily. Oh, that those who need to see, but the things of the flesh keep them from being able to, I pray You bring them through that. Lord open their eyes to the truth. I pray once again for our nation, for our leaders, that You Lord will direct their paths, even in the face of persecution by the masses, wanting to entertain the flesh, constantly seeking what will benefit them without thinking of others, but given the false impression that they care. Lord, forgive them, and bring them to a place of sanity and reality in You. I ask that You prompt Your children to petition You, for Your mercy and forgiveness, and I ask it in Jesus name.
