Rebooting

Do you have a Biblical verse or verses that are your “go-to” or favorites? I believe we all should have his or her life verses to go back to when needed. Since college, my favorite passage has been Proverbs 3:5&6,  5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. When I need to reboot myself and get back to the basics of faith in the Lord, I park myself at these verses and meditate on them.
Trust in the Lord. According to the Webster Dictionary, Trust means “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone. One in which confidence is placed.” I start my reboot by focusing on God and His character, ability, strength and truth. I refresh my commitment to and trust in the Lord, “casting all my anxieties on him, because he cares for me” (1 Peter 5:7).
With all my heart. The heart to the Hebrew meant his core thoughts, the very foundation of his/her mind. I do an inventory of what’s at the very core of my mind producing my thought patterns. I recognize this is where the devil gets me off track. Why has my faith grown stale? I take my time doing this. Psalm 139:23&24 states, 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting!
Lean not on my own understanding. I humbly admit that I have leaned on my understanding and made a mess of things. I commit my whole heart (core thoughts and seat of my affections) to Him. 1 John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In all your ways acknowledge Him. I confess to Him that He is Savior, Lord and King and submit to Him in a fresh way.
And He will make straight my paths. He starts guiding and giving direction in my life. My life becomes intentional and purposeful following Him and His ways enjoying His presence.
Proverbs 3:5&6 are my life, go-to verses and how I reboot myself when I get off track. What are your verses? Go to His Word to get rebooted.
