Walk In The Light

From Pastor Andy this morning:

Had a wonderful bible study last night with a few friends, and we talked about following Jesus by living in light instead of darkness. We all realize that impure thoughts give us some dark times, especially with what we are going through now. But that is the adversary putting little things into our heads, making us think that we are doing what is right. But 1 John tells us: “But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say, ‘We have no sin,’ we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:7-9 So it’s alright that we have all these things flung at us during the day, on social media, or the news, but are we acting on the things we hear? Do they make us angry, fearful, or other emotional type feelings? Walking in the light is taking that time when we all get bombarded with people’s opinions and solutions for the trouble we face, and focusing on them instead of the very Light of Christ. Now is the time to stay focused; Now is the time to always go back to the Word of God, for the answers that others claim to have, but really don’t. But know this! God does, and He is willing to guide us through and to reveal for us His purpose for us during this time. There was a time, recorded in Matthew 11, that Jesus was responding to those who called Him evil. Listen to this Scripture: “For John did not come eating or drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard. a friend of tax collectors and sinners!” Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” Then He proceeded to denounce the towns where most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent: ‘Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes long ago! But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre andSidon on the day of judgment than for you.” Matthew 11:18-22 So Christian church universal, you are being shown many things today, that God wants you to see, the miracles He still performs, the indications of the presence of the Holy Spirit doing God’s work in the world, even in the midst of suffering. But do we see it? Now is the time for us to NOT turn to talking heads to hear the message for today, but TURN to God, and if need, repent, and walk in the Light, as He is in the light. Now is the time to reveal who it is who truly is the Captain of our souls. The world is waiting to hear, is waiting to see. Be the light to show them Christ, and perhaps God will hear from heaven, will forgive our sins, and will heal our land. Now is the time to show the wisdom of God, not the wisdom of the world. Now is the time to display the faith that has never failed us yet, and will not now. Now is the time!
